Former UDP Mayor of Dangriga Aron ‘Jake’ Gongora passes away

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Former United Democratic Party (UDP) Mayor of Dangriga Aron ‘Jake’ Gongora passed away earlier on Thursday.

“With Deepest Sympathies and Sincere Condolences to the family and friends of this dear brother,” wrote Alberto August, United Democratic Party Vice-chairman.

“It is with profound sadness that the Gongora Family announces the passing of their beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, Friend,” said the Gongora family’s announcement.

Gongora served as mayor of Dangriga from 2009 to 2012.

Born on November 9, 1954, Gongora was 67.

May he rest in peace.
