4 passengers, driver injured after bus crashes into a parked vehicle

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Police are investigating a road traffic accident that left 5 people injured.

According to reports, police visited the scene of an accident last night just before 8 pm and saw a grey bus that had crashed into a yellow truck on the Philip Goldson Highway.

Investigations revealed that the bus driver was driving to Belize City from Orange Walk when near miles 27 and 28 when the front tire of the bus blew out and he lost control and ran off the road. 

The bus hit and damaged a light post and collided with a parked yellow truck. 

At the time of the accident, the bus was carrying 52 passengers.

The driver along with 4 passengers complained of injuries and were taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

The driver of the bus has been served with a notice of intended prosecution.
