Belize City man convicted in court for using crack pipe

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 32-year-old Belize City man was convicted for a drug offense today in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.

Alrick Gotoy appeared in court answering to a single count of possession of a pipe for the purpose of smoking drugs.

He wasted no time and pleaded guilty to the offense and was fined $200 plus the $5 cost of court.

The magistrate told Gotoy that the aggravating factor in his case was that he has a previous conviction for drug offenses.

He has until October 20 to pay the fine or he will have to spend two months in prison.
