Bella Vista murder suspect at risk of fleeing Belize, police say

By Aaron Humes, Belmopan: Elias Pacheco, a Honduran national, is being sought in the murder of Ernesto Blanco on Saturday night in Bella Vista village, Toledo District.

Authorities in his native Honduras and Guatemala have been informed, police said today, in order to head off a potential effort to flee Belize and avoid prosecution.

Pacheco is accused of chopping Blanco at the residence of Denia Montolla, his ex-partner after Blanco had earlier walked Montolla home. Police would not say if there had been any previous reports of violence between the exes.

Police say Pacheco is considered armed and dangerous. They continue to seek his arrest in connection with their investigations.
