Ladyville man charged with unlawful sex with 14-year-old girl

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 23-year-old man from the Spanish Town area of Ladyville Village was charged today for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Guatemalan national, Danny Aldana appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today, charged with a single count of unlawful sexual intercourse.

The court explained to him that a plea will not be taken from him since the charge is an indictable offense. As such, he cannot receive bail at the Magistrate level and was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until November 14.

Aldana told the magistrate that he only has a Guatemalan passport and does not have residency in Belize.

The minor in the company of her 46-year-old father visited the Ladyville police station to report that sometime in December 2020, when she was only 14 years old, she had sex with Aldana.
