Belize’s Culture Month celebrated in Taiwan

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, September 13, 2022, the Embassy of Belize in Taiwan and Central America Trade Office hosted the inaugural ceremony for the opening of Belize’s Culture Month as well as the commemoration of the 41st Anniversary of Belize’s Independence Day.

The event was hosted at Bopiliao Historical Site.

There was also an opening performance by Belizean students and cultural ambassadors.

Belize’s Ambassador to Taiwan, Dr. Candice Pitts delivered the welcome address, followed by opening remarks from John Briceno, Prime Minister of Belize, and Dr. Lai Ching-te, Vice President of R.O.C-Taiwan.

A painting exhibition from Belizean artists as well as other cultural artifacts from Belize was on display.

In attendance were representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan, members of the Diplomatic Corps in Taiwan, representatives of other countries, members of the business community, Belizean students, and other friends of Belize.

“The Embassy of Belize in R.O.C-Taiwan extends profound gratitude to the government and people of Taiwan and all friends of Belize for the continued support,” a statement from the Embassy said.

 “Valiant and Bold, Proud and Strong! Belize Rebounds at 41!”
