By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 45-year-old Belize City resident was fined in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today for carrying a knife that was longer than one could legally carry in public.
Terrance Bailey appeared unrepresented in court answering to a charge of possession of an object with a blade.
He pleaded guilty to the offense and was fined $250 plus $5 cost of court. He has until November 30 to pay the fine or he will spend two months in jail for default.
Police stopped Bailey as he rode his bicycle on West Collet Canal because they saw an object sticking out of his pants.
They searched him and discovered a 7 1/2-inch knife on him. He was arrested and charged with the aforementioned offense.
