The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Belize Met Service) says that the airflow prevailing over the country today will make for unstable conditions.

The 24-hour forecast calls for sunny skies with cloudy spells today with some showers, thunderstorms, or periods of rain mostly over northern and inland areas this morning; with a decrease expected this afternoon. A few showers, thunderstorms, and periods of rain will re-develop over central and southern areas tonight.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 86 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 90 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 80 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 74 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 68 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be blowing East between 05-15 knots and the sea state will be choppy.

A small craft caution for gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms. There is also a flood watch in place for the possibility of localized flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
The outlook for Thursday and Thursday night is for a few showers and thunderstorms continuing mostly over the north Thursday morning, decreasing in the afternoon.

High tide will come in at 12:51 p.m. and low tide will occur at 6:38 p.m.

The sun will set at 5:55 p.m. and the moon will rise at 9:06 p.m.

Our thanks to forecaster Shanea Young for this weather report.
