Posted: Thursday, September 15, 2022. 10:41 am CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Government of Belize has launched the National Micro, Small, and Medium (MSME) enterprises roadshow.

The purpose of the roadshow is to raise public awareness of the goods and services being produced by MSMEs.

From September 7 to 9, 2022 entrepreneurs in Belize City participated in the first series of the roadshow that will be taken across the country to give exposure to MSME’s.

Three female entrepreneurs received $2500 each to reinvest in their businesses after they presented their business pitches. The recipients, Sheena Smith of Nari self-care, Stellis Bermudez of Speednez delivery service and Shirlene Williams of Shayz and Shelz variety shop were the winners of the pitch competition.

“With MSMEs responsible for a large chunk of our economic activity and jobs creation, our efforts will ensure a space for continued growth.  Our focus is also encouraging women entrepreneurs and ensuring these businesses experience equity in the distribution of government and government agencies assistance,” Prime Minister John Briceno said.
