Body believed to be that of caretaker Phillip Palma found

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Late on Saturday evening, a search party located the body of a man they believe to be that of missing 55-year-old Phillip Palma.

The search party was led by Jose Luis Espat and included members of the Palma family who made the general identification based on the location the body was found and the clothing that was found on the body.

The authorities were called to the undisclosed location and it is expected that a post-mortem will be conducted on the body. No official report or update has yet been provided by the Police.

Phillip Palma, a caretaker residing at Mile 5 on the George Price Highway, was reported missing on Wednesday, September 14. According to his family he was last heard from about a week ago, and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, grey 3/4 cargo pants, and white tennis shoes.

The Police and Coast Guard had conducted searches on an island where reports indicate that Palma had visited, but this search turned up empty-handed.
