By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Minister of Transport, Rodwell Ferguson posted a statement on his Facebook page saying that bus upgrades must come.
“I am sorry the upgrade will have to come to these buses. The commuters deserve something better. The countdown to December 2022 begins when we must see the transformation begins or else, we give you enough time,” Ferguson stated.
Ferguson also shared a picture that was sent by a commuter showing damaged seats.
“A commuter sent me this picture this morning on the western route and she has to be changing from seat to seat to avoid getting wet in these dry weather buses,” he added.
In addition, the Minister said that he does not have any investment or ownership in Floralia Transport.
“You can check the company registry for silent or unsilent partners you will not find my name or any persons related to me. As the Minister responsible I remain resolute that change must come,” Ferguson asserted.
He pledged to continue working on upgrading the bus terminals as well and introduce a ticketing system to avoid the rush.
