Man allegedly assaults his ex-wife and burns her house down

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have detained a man in connection with an investigation of assault and arson.

The 40-year-old victim of Biscayne Village claimed that her ex-husband came to her home around 10:15 p.m. on Saturday and assaulted her.

Moments later, he was reportedly seen fleeing the scene and the house was engulfed in flames.

The fire was extinguished by Belize Fire Service personnel, while authorities are questioning the suspect.

At this time he has not been criminally charged for any offense, and as such should not be named.
