By Breaking Belize News Staff: Thirty-four-year-old Philip Hernandez, who was charged with firearms offenses and for being involved in security service without a security license, claimed in court that he is, in fact, a police officer.
Hernandez was found dressed in camouflage gear at the Puma Gas Station in Belize City located on the Philip Goldson Highway on Wednesday, September 15. He had in his possession a .38 revolver with five live rounds of ammunition.
Hernandez was charged with keeping a firearm and ammunition without a license. He was later also charged with being involved in security service without a security license.
In court, he rebutted the allegations saying that he is a police officer who was working “special duties.”
Due to the nature of his offences, no bail was granted to him and Hernandez was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until November 16.
