Police: Body of man found in shallow grave

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Yesterday around 3.30 pm, based on information of a body found, police visited a caye about 5 miles away from Belize City where they discovered the body of Belizean caretaker, Phillip Palma,55, in a shallow grave.

The body was found about 3 feet deep and about 50 feet away from the seaside. According to police reports, the body was in the initial stage of decomposition and was identified by Keona Palma, the daughter of Phillip as well as other family members at the location.

When police removed the body from the shallow grave, they observed a gunshot injury on the left temple area of the body.

The body was transported to the NFSS Lab by police officers and now awaits a post-mortem examination.
