Vehicle set on fire in Belize City

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A vehicle was destroyed by fire in Belize City this weekend, and authorities are treating it as a case of arson.

Police responded to a call around 4:40 a.m. on Saturday and headed to Antelope Street where they found a silver 2003 Toyota Sequoia completely engulfed in flames.

The owner, 29-year-old Pail Gamboa, told police that he had been parking his vehicle on Antelope Street for two days prior and it was in good working condition. He further said that he last saw the vehicle around 11:00 p.m. on Friday night.

The estimated value is $12,500.00; however, the vehicle was not insured.

Police are investigating.
