By Ruben Morales Iglesias: Port Loyola couldn’t repeat their triumph over Altitude over Verdes and fell 3-1 to the National Champions on Sunday evening at the MCC Grounds in Belize City.

The Green Machine moved up to 18 points, the same as Altitude but with a better goal difference, and regained the leading position in the Premier League of Belize (PLB).

Verdes went ahead on an own goal by Kenroy Tillett in the 29′ and Trimayne Harris made it 2-0 in the 43′.

Sean Young put Port Layola back in contention in the 56’ but Paraguayan Luis Ibarra scored Verdes’ third goal in the 78′ insuring the game for the champs.

Port Layola let go of an opportunity to improve its position in the standings and remains with ten points in the sixth position.
