Holy Redeemer Credit Union burglary: Break-in through two holes in wall defeated by security alarm

By Aaron Humes: According to police, multiple persons in and around the offices of Holy Redeemer Credit Union Limited on Hydes Lane have been questioned in light of a reported attempted break-in early on Monday morning.

Police investigations indicate that two breaches were made in the east wall of the main office building named for Henry Charles “Eagles” Usher, Sr., but one was near the credit union’s vault section. The security officer on duty first heard the building alarm go off around 4:13 in the morning and stopped about four minutes later, but after calling the KBH dispatch office, their checks of the surrounding area turned up nothing unusual.

However, security footage showed one man entering through the hole in a Hazmat suit and after walking briefly through the building returned through the hole with access and escaped.

Police have not ruled out inside assistance but are taking into account that whoever informed had to have known the alarm would go off. Their investigations continue.
