By Aaron Humes: What’s more Belizean than Marie Sharp’s pepper sauces made in the Stann Creek Valley?

At today’s Children’s Parade in Benque Viejo del Carmen Town, one inventive youngster stole the show with this costume of a Marie Sharp’s Hot Pepper Sauce bottle.

He has been identified to us as Dimas Humberto Bautista from Hills of Promise Seventh Day Adventist School in Benque.

Picture-taker Nancy Duarte, who forwarded the shot to us, said she took the picture “because he got my attention as [I] saw him.” She added that she felt he deserved recognition.

We agree, and we hope the good folks at Marie Sharp’s treat him to a nice supply of their products which range from mild to incredibly spicy, not to mention jams, jellies and even fruit juices. And while it is all made in Belize, it has gotten recognition worldwide.

Shoutout to Dimas, Ms Duarte and Hills of Promise for this representation of a proud product of Belize on Independence Eve.
