Leader of Opposition lays wreath at the tomb of Father of the Nation Rt Hon. George Price

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On National Service Day, Leader of the Opposition, Shyne Barrow attended the wreath-laying ceremony in honor of National Hero and Father of the Nation, Rt Hon. George Price.

Barrow noted that it was an honor for him to lay the wreath on Price’s tomb.

“A Belizean who resisted colonialism, oppression, and subjugation. A Belizean who fought with every fiber of his being for the day Belizeans would be truly free of tyrants that lingered and enjoy Independence as a sovereign Nation. September 19, 2011, Rt Hon. Price departed earth for the realm beyond but his contributions to Belize will live forever,” Barrow stated.

National Service Day was commemorated with acts of service countrywide.
