Infrastructure: Roads, bridges and International Airport getting upgrades

Posted: Wednesday, September 21, 2022. 10:28 am CST.

By Aaron Humes: Some 213 miles of primary road and nearly 240 miles of secondary roads are and will be upgraded in the current year, according to Prime Minister John Briceño.

Added to this are 11 bridges including the $30 million New Haulover Bridge.

The Philip Goldson International Airport and several municipal airstrips are also expected to be upgraded.

Investigations are ongoing into a feasibility study for the conversion of sargassum along the coast to a power source.

Overall, says Briceño, this is our collective effort, our day, that pride, confidence and resolve make us first-rate and the envy of the world.
