Citrus Growers Association mourns loss of board member Wilmot Simmons

By Hugh O’Brien: The Citrus Growers Association (CGA) sent out a press release earlier today expressing sadness on the loss of Wilmot Simmons, a member of its Board of Directors.

CGA notes that Simmons served on the Board since 2012 until his death. He was commended for serving the Association and Industry with “dignity and passion”. His contribution “was meaningful

“Many citrus growers who made contact with him acknowledge his friendly character and excellent sales representative aptitude…his hard work, dedication has not gone un-noticed” says the CGA.

“To the family, we say that your loss is shared by many who knew your love one well. Our caring thoughts are with you and our sentiments go beyond much more than words can tell. Wilmot’s departure is hard to say “goodbye”, but we know you are in a better place. As his soul rests in peace, his legacy remains with many in the Citrus Industry.”

Fifty-eight year old Wilmot Simmons died on September 20th 2022 after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer.

A wake for Wilmot Simmons is being held at his childhood residence, 59 Burns Avenue in San Ignacio on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in San Ignacio, Cayo, on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 2:00p.m
