Taiwan and Belize sign Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between hospitals

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On September 23, 2022, Taiwan and Belize signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation between Far Eastern Memorial Hospital of Taiwan and Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

Chandra Cansino, CEO of Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, and Dr. Yu-Sen Peng, Vice President of Far Eastern Memorial Hospital signed the MOU aimed at strengthening the partnership between the 2 hospitals.

Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize, David Kuan-Chou Chien, along with Dr. Jorge Polanco, Director of Hospital Services and Allied Health in the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Belize as well as Dr. Andre Sosa, Board Chairman of Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital attended the signing ceremony to witness the establishment of MOU for Cooperation.

The agreement will help strengthen the interaction in the fields of public health and medical care between Belize and Taiwan.

“The MOU also demonstrates rock-solid friendship and facilitates bilateral medical cooperation between our two countries, while this year marks the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Belize and Taiwan,” the Taiwan Embassy in Belize said.

The Embassy stated that it will continuously work with the Government of Belize to consolidate the partnership between the 2 countries.
