By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize’s Ambassador to Taiwan Dr. Candice Pitts attended the State Funeral of Japan’s former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, along with other world leaders, government officials, leaders of international organizations, diplomats, and representatives from other countries.
Abe, who was Japan’s longest-serving Prime Minister, was shot dead during a campaign speech in Nara, Japan last July.
“Over 4000 attendees joined Prime Minister Abe’s family, the Imperial family members, government officials, friends, and supporters, to pay respect to the dearly departed leader,” said the Belize Embassy in Taiwan.
“May the soul of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe rest in perfect repose.”
