Belize City’s “Bertie” celebrates 106th birthday

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Mayor Bernard Wagner joined in celebrating the 106th birthday of Gilbert “Bertie” Ellis’ in Belize City.

Bertie was born on September 24, 1916. 

Bertie resides in the Caribbean Shores constituency.

The Belize City Council honored Bertie with a financial token, a personalized birthday card and an extra packed care package including grocery items, vitamins, hygienic products and much more.

“We extend a big thank you to Mr. Bertie for welcoming us into his home and sharing such rich stories with us. We wish you nothing but love and happy days ahead,” the Belize City Council said.
