By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 47-year-old man from La Democracia Village, Belize District, is out on bail after having several charges filed against him resulting from an altercation with his estranged common-law wife.

Henry Tucker Sr., appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday, answering to charges of aggravated assault with a machete, threat of death, and using insulting words against the complainant.

In court, Tucker pleaded not guilty to all three charges and was offered bail of $1,000 plus one surety of the same amount.

The two live in the same house, with one living in the upper flat and the other in the lower.

Allegations against Tucker are that on September 22, the complainant raised an issue about him raising the electricity bill and an argument ensued, where it is alleged that he pulled the machete and uttered the words for which he was charged.
