By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) are closely monitoring an area of low pressure located several hundred miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands. This system is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
This activity has changed little in organization over the last day or so, but environmental conditions are still expected to be sufficiently conducive for the system to become a tropical depression during the next couple of days.
The disturbance is forecast to meander for the next day or so and then turn north-northwestward by early Thursday.
