By Benjamin Flowers: The Belmopan City Council is causing those in and around the municipality to be mindful that the persistent rain is causing flooding in some areas.
The council notes that “Commuters are advised of flash flooding on the Hummingbird Highway; kindly exercise extreme caution.”
Meanwhile, personnel from the Belmopan Emergency Management Organization (BEMO) say that they are assessing and monitoring the area near the J&W Bridge, as the water is rising at a rapid rate.
BEMO told Breaking Belize News that an official report from that assessment is forthcoming.
Motorists are encouraged at this time to drive carefully due to the rain and conditions of the roads.
This is a developing story.
