Statistical Institute of Belize: Annual gross domestic product rose 15 percent in 2021

By Aaron Humes: The Statistical Institute of Belize indicates that Belize has recovered at least in part from pandemic lows.

The annual value of production of goods and services rose to $4.6 billion, a rise of $605 million or 15.2 percent over 2020.

The SIB says this was expected with the return of key industries after the teeth of the pandemic.

Primary sector contributions including Agriculture rose 22 percent; secondary sector contributions rose 11 percent and tertiary sector or service sector rose nearly 14 percent.
