By Benjamin Flowers: Police have arrested and charged two Corozal men with firearms offenses.
Police say that on Monday around 6:00 p.m. they searched a vehicle that was parked on the side of the highway near a checkpoint at Hattieville Village and found a .38 revolver with five live .38 rounds.
Present in the vehicle at the time of the search was 35-year-old Kurtis Usher of Libertad Village, and 31-year-old Byron Montoya of Baiza Layout, Corozal Town.
Neither man could produce a gun license on demand and as such were both charged with keeping a firearm and ammunition without a gun license.
