By Breaking Belize News Staff: Norris Flowers, 58, a taxi driver of Corozal Town was reportedly killed by a robber and then robbed of his personal belongings including his vehicle yesterday evening.
According to authorities, yesterday around 6.55 pm, they received information of a shooting in the vicinity of Dominguez Layout, Corozal Town, and when they visited the area, they discovered the body of Flowers who was found lying face down and apparently dead.
Police say that three apparent gunshot wounds were observed on the body and his wallet and IDs were missing.
The body was later identified by his common-law wife Barbara Acosta, 54.
Initial investigation revealed that yesterday at about 8:15 am, Flowers, left his home driving his grey Toyota Corolla four-door car bearing license plate CZl D-2260. At the time he left his home, he was wearing a silver bracelet on his right hand, a silver ring with a green stone on his left-hand finger, a silver chain with a medal of a Jesus face on his neck, his black leather wallet and his black in color Alcatel cellular phone with contact number 638-04903.
He was last seen at 6:00 pm at the Corozal Venus Bus Line Taxi Drivers Union parking lot where his services were requested by a man who is being described as having brown skin complexion, medium built, about five feet four inches in height who arrived on a bicycle. The person then placed the bicycle inside the trunk of the taxi and got inside the vehicle where Flowers then drove away from the taxi stand to an unknown destination.
At this time, his vehicle with license plate CZL D- 2260 is missing and is believed to be in the possession of the assailant or assailant.
The police investigation continues.
