More than 20 people died after Hurricane Ian ravaged Florida

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Officials in Florida confirmed that 21 people died due to Hurricane Ian.

On Wednesday, powerful Category 4 Hurricane Ian ravaged Florida causing widespread power outages, flooding, and record-breaking storm surges.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is yet to release figures on the estimated death toll due to the hurricane.

Videos and photos on social media showed the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian in Florida with vehicles and debris floating away.

Florida Rep. Kathy Castor, who represents the Tampa Bay area, called the situation a “major catastrophe,” Yahoo reports.
