By Benjamin Flowers: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing (MIDH) has advised the general public that bridge beams being used in the Haulover Bridge Replacement Project will be transported along the Philip Goldson Highway this weekend.
The MIDH issued a notice today explaining that four extremely heavy, 100-foot-long bridge beams will be transported on the Philip Goldson Highway from Ladyville to the southern approach of the Haulover Bridge during the course of the day on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
“The public is advised to be vigilant and exercise extreme caution when approaching the heavy equipment transporting these reinforced concrete beams,” the MIDH said. “Drivers are asked to always follow traffic warnings and the instructions of escorts as these beams may take up the entire width of the highway and the existing Haulover Bridge.”
The Ministry also thanked the public for their cooperation during the project and reminded them that motorists encountering these loads on the highway should exercise due care and attention.
The Haulover Bridge Replacement Project is being implemented by M&M Engineering Consultants Ltd.,
