Bowen & Bowen Corporate Citizens organize to plant over 300 mangrove seedlings along Southern sea front

Posted: Saturday, October 1, 2022. 1:34 pm CST.

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A group of Bowen and Bowen employees organized this morning to plant mangrove seedlings along Belize City’s southern seafront in an effort to secure the city’s coastline.

Rosanna Villanueva, Corporate Relations Manager for Bowen & Bowen Ltd. told Breaking Belize News that the Bowen and Bowen Corporate Citizens Committee is a team of employees who are supported by the Company and who volunteer their time and labor for projects that positively impact our communities.

Under the guidance of the Coastal Zone Management Authority, the team planted 300 mangrove seedlings in the sea in front of Wesley College today.

As the mangroves mature they will provide protection for the coastline in that area and improve the ecosystem.

Villanueva said today’s initiative was its first such effort but noted the group plans to carry out more of these exercises in the coming months.
