Chopping victim in Benque Viejo named; Area Rep, Town Council extend condolences

By Aaron Humes: The victim of today’s fatal chopping incident in Benque Viejo Town has been named as Porfiria Ramona Morales, better known as “Doña Moncha”.

Social media statements have been issued by the Benque Viejo Town Council, which “expresses condolences to the family, relatives, and friends of Ms. Porfiria Ramona Morales” and asks, “May the soul of Porfiria Ramona Morales be at peace with our Heavenly Father. Rest in peace Doña Moncha,” and by area representative Jorge “Milin” Espat.

It is not clear what led to Ms. Morales’ death and Police have begun an investigation as we await further details.
