By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Government of Belize today presented Panamanian Ambassador Marta Boza Núñez land papers for Panama to build its Embassy in Belmopan.
“Today we had the pleasure of handing over to Ambassador Marta Boza Nuñez of Panama, the transfer of a parcel of land where they will eventually build the Panamanian Embassy in Belize,” wrote Area Representative and Minister of State of National Defense & Border Security Oscar Mira in a social media post.
“This short ceremony took place at the RECONDEV Conference Room and was witnessed by personnel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Manager of RECONDEV, Mr. Genaro Barrera, member of the Board of Directors, Mr. Mario Cruz, and Ms. Felicia Pandy JP who stamped the transfer.”
Minister Mira said Ambassador Boza Núñez expressed her pleasure in finally getting this transfer accomplished and remarked that Panama has always been a good friend to Belize.
“She reminded us of the friendship shown to Rt. Hon. George Price by Panama during our Independence struggle and the enduring friendship our countries have shared.
“It was a pleasure to hand over this parcel of land to Panama. I am glad that it was our PUP Government that finally got it done,” said Mira.
