Only 57 total active cases of COVID-19 countrywide entering October

By Aaron Humes: It has been a while since much of anything has been said regarding COVID-19, but that may be because there’s not much to report.

The number of active cases countrywide up to yesterday, Tuesday, including the weekend, is just 57, including 30 total new cases, according to information from the Ministry of Health.

Overall, 68,884 cases have been reported since the start of the pandemic in March of 2020, resulting in 686 deaths.

14 of the new cases were reported in the Belize and Cayo District, half of which were in Belize City; 11 new cases were reported in the South and five in the North.

Still, Belizeans are encouraged to not unnecessarily expose themselves to a disease that has lost none of its potency.
