San Ignacio/ Santa Elena Town Council rolls out new coin machine for bathroom use at Welcome Center

By Benjamin Flowers: The San Ignacio/Santa Elena (SISE) Town Council announced today that it has rolled out a new coin machine to use the bathroom at the Cayo Welcome Center.

The Council issued a notice to the general public today, explaining that a Belize dollar coin is now needed to access the bathroom facilities at the Welcome Center.

Traditionally, there was someone posted at the entrance to the bathrooms collecting the $1 fee. The move by the council is the latest in municipalities employing technology in its processes.

In April, the Belize City Council rolled out parking meters in downtown Belize City and on Princess Margaret Drive, to regularize parking in these areas.
