By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Avian influenza that affected the Northern Districts has been contained and no more cases have been detected, said the Minister of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise Jose Abelardo Mai.

“We did the necessary depopulation and did further testing and up to now we’ve had no more positive cases of Avian Influenza,” said Minister Mai on Thursday.

“The farms where we found the disease, those farms were being cleaned out and all the safety measures [have been] taken. That seems to have been working well. We’ve had no further infections, and no further incidences of the disease so far.”
