By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Hattieville resident was fined in court this week for possession of crack cocaine.
Fifty-three-year-old Edward Usher appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, charged with a single count of possession of controlled drugs in connection to 0.7 grams of crack cocaine found in his possession during a police search.
He wasted no time in pleading guilty in court but pleaded for a fine instead of prison time because there are people whom he has the responsibility of caring and providing for.
The court took his plea into consideration and fined him $200 plus the $5 cost of court.
Usher has until November 4th to pay his fine or he will face two months in prison for default.
