Jaleel Burns charged for having a motorcycle that was stolen from a man who was shot and robbed on Branch Mouth Road

By Benjamin Flowers: Police have arrested and charged a man from Central Farm Village, Cayo District, for being in possession of a motorcycle that was stolen from a man who was robbed and shot.

Today, police formally charged 26-year-old Jaleel Darrel Burns with the crime of handling stolen goods.

The motorcycle was stolen from Roquelino Ortega on Saturday, October 1.

Ortega was near the Hammock Bridge on Branch Mouth Road, San Ignacio Town, around 10:40 p.m. when three men approached him. One of the men pulled a gun and shot him, then took his motorcycle and left.

Ortega was taken to the Western Regional Hospital for treatment, where he remains in stable condition.
