By Benjamin Flowers: People all over Central America are urged to be even more vigilant in monitoring the current weather systems, following a determination made by experts that the weather system in the southern Caribbean Sea will become a tropical depression.
The United States National Hurricane Center (NHC) issued an update a short while ago, noting that the weather system is now being referred to as Potential Tropical Cyclone Thirteen.
“Advisories have been initiated on Potential Tropical Cyclone Thirteen, located over the south-central Caribbean Sea. It has a high (100 percent) chance of formation during the next 48 hours and in the next 5 days,” the NHC said.
Meteorologists in Belize say that Belize could feel the impacts of this system as early as Sunday, October 9, but the intensity of those impacts has yet to be calculated. The National Meteorological Service of Belize urges all Belizeans to remain vigilant in monitoring the system and urges that appropriate action be taken to preserve life.
Meanwhile, advisories have also been issued in connection with Tropical Depression Twelve, which is located about 700 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
