Belize City youth caught with counterfeit currency out on bail

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 19-year-old Belize City resident is out on bail after being caught in possession of fake money.

Antwane Alvarez was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s court on a single charge of possession of counterfeit currency, to which he pleaded not guilty.

There was no objection to bail and it was granted to him in the sum of $1,500, plus one surety of the same, which he was able to meet.

He is due back in court on November 25.

Allegations against him are that during a police search he was found to be in possession of two $100 notes that were fake.
