Belize Weather: Julia continuing to affect weather conditions

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service forecasts continuing moist and unstable conditions associated with the passage of Hurricane Julia in Nicaragua.

The 24-hour Forecast is for cloudy to overcast skies with showers, thunderstorms, and periods of light rain especially over the south and coast.

High temperatures today over most of the country peak at 84 degrees Fahrenheit except for the hills where it will be 74 degrees Fahrenheit. Tonight’s low temperatures are 75 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 70 degrees inland, and 66 degrees in the hills.

Winds are northeasterly at 10 to 20 knots and gusty; the sea state is moderate. A small craft caution and flood warning remain in effect and a strong thunderstorm watch is also in effect for storms producing lightning, heavy rainfall, and strong damaging winds.

Tides will be high at 9:40 this morning and 9:39 this evening and low at 3:45 this afternoon. The sun sets at 5:35 this evening and rises at 5:44 Monday morning.

The holiday Monday sees continued cloudy skies and some showers and thunderstorms over most areas, decreasing by nightfall.
