By Breaking Belize News Staff: Six Belize City men have been remanded to the Belize Central Prison for alleged gang affiliation.
The men, 32-year-old Clifford Russell Anderson, 20-year-old Jaheed Shamar Baptist, 19-year-old Jahil Craig, 22-year-old Shawn Anthony Humes, 23-year-old Marquise Anthony Conorquie, and 24-year-old Enrique Bermudez, were charged separately with being a member of a gang, and arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.
The men all pleaded not guilty to their charges, but due to the nature of the offense, they were all remanded. Anderson and Baptist were remanded until December 6, Craig and Humes were remanded until December 7, while Conorquie and Bermudez were remanded until December 8.
Gang affiliation is an offense under the Crime Control and Criminal Justice Act, Chapter 102 of the Laws of Belize.
