By Aaron Humes: This evening, the Ministry of Education announced that in-person classes would be suspended tomorrow, Tuesday, for all schools in the rural Cayo District (excluding those in Belmopan, San Ignacio/Santa Elena and Benque Viejo) and the Corazon route in Rural Toledo (including Santa Ana, Barranco and Midway).

Schools being used as shelters will also not have in-person classes.

Some schools such as Sacred Heart College in San Ignacio have already announced there will be no classes due to their condition. The Ministry says it will continue to monitor weather conditions in the other districts and inform of any further changes made to school schedules.

Rains and floods from Hurricane Julia continue to impact Belize through Tuesday.
