Two deaths reported in El Salvador as Tropical Storm Julia moves over the Salvadoran coast

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Salvadoran authorities have reported 2 deaths as Tropical Storm Julia moves over the Salvadoran coast, La Prensa Grafica reports.

The 2 people died after a wall collapsed and destroyed their home in Morazan. 

Flooding, landslides, and falling trees have been reported in El Salvador.

The country is in a State of Emergency and Red alert due to the passing of Tropical Storm Julia which is now located about 40 miles west of San Salvador.

Hurricane shelters have been activated and residents had to be evacuated due to heavy rains.

Authorities are still conducting evacuations in Puerto Cutuco, near Quebrada Los Monos, in La Unión; and in the Tamarindo Community, the report noted.

Landslides were also reported in different parts of El Salvador.
