By Benjamin Flowers: The European Union (EU) has praised the efforts of authorities in Belize in the preservation of the Xunantunich archaeological site.

On its official Facebook page EU in Belize, the EU made a post commending Belize for its amazing historic and cultural options for travelers, stressing that Xunantunich was most notable. EU personnel were granted a tour of the site and gave shining reviews once the tour was over.

“Breathtaking Belize! There is so much amazing history and culture Belize has to offer,” EU in Belize posted. “What a fantastic tour at Xunantunich, discovering one of the country’s most well preserved archaeological marvels! A few years back the EU contributed to establishing the Xunantunich Education Centre and other infrastructure improvements, and we’re glad many visitors continue to enjoy them today!”

A positive mention from EU representatives only serves to further solidify Belize’s place within the region as a prime tourism destination; and will serve to attract more visitors from that region.
