Caye Caulker residents found with 50 weed brownies detained pending charges

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have detained three Caye Caulker residents pending charges after they were found with 50 brownies containing marijuana.

On Wednesday police conducted a search just before 6:00 p.m., where they found two of the weed brownies in the pants pocket of one of the three people present during the search. Further checks on the residents revealed a black plastic bag that contained 48 brownies.

The brownies in the bag were weighed and police say they had a combined weight of 1,234 grams, with a fudge weight of 197 grams.

While the incident is being looked at as a drug trafficking case, none of the residents have been officially charged for an offense as yet.
