By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 20-year-old Ladyville resident who was charged with burglary pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods after over $3,000 worth of stolen items were found at his home.

Aaron Barnett appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, accused of stealing items from an Indian medical student including hard drives, memory cards, and cell phones, to a total value of $3,065. The court accepted his guilty plea to handling stolen goods and the prosecution withdrew the charge of burglary against him.

Taking into consideration that Barnett was a first offender, the Magistrate imposed a fine of $800 plus $5 cost of court.
