Belize Weather: Fair start, but increase in showers later

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service forecasts sunny skies today with a few cloudy spells. Showers will be generally isolated this morning except in the south. This afternoon there will be isolated thunderstorms inland. Tonight, skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy with a few showers and thunderstorms developing mainly along coastal areas into Sunday morning.

High temperatures peak at 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 92 degrees in inland areas and 82 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 81 degrees along the coast, 75 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly at five to 15 knots. The seas will be light chop. A flood warning remains in effect for communities along rivers in the center of the country.

Tides will be low at a quarter past eight this morning and 6:58 this evening and high at a quarter past two this afternoon. The sun sets at half past five this evening and rises at a quarter to six Sunday morning.

On Sunday, there will be cloudy intervals with a few showers and thunderstorms along the coast, decreasing gradually into the night.
